CHICAGO — Runners and fans enjoyed picture perfect weather as they took to the streets of Chicago for the 39th Annual Chicago Marathon.
The race kicked off at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, as the field of elite and amateur athletes crossed the starting line to tour numerous neighborhoods of Chicago during the 26.2 mile course packed with thousands of fans.
Two Kenyan runners dominated the race, taking home the top spots in both the men's and women's field. Abel Kirui finished with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes and 23 seconds. Florence Kiplagat finished with a time of 2 hours, 21 minutes and 32 seconds.

On a local level, U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth celebrated her 4th Chicago Marathon finish Sunday.
