COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Three people, including 14- and 15-year-old boys, have been charged with robbing a Mt. Greenwood 7-Eleven at gunpoint Tuesday.

According to prosecutors, the teens boasted "they had hit that mother------" after robbing the store at 3231 W. 103rd St. about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Getaway driver Bryant Walker, 23, parked down the street shortly before the attack and waited in his car while two accomplices, ages 14 and 15, walked toward the 7-Eleven with a gun, Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antonietti said during a bond hearing Thursday.

The teens had previously told Walker they planned to use "a five-finger discount," or steal from the store, once inside, Walker reportedly told police after he was arrested Tuesday night.

Inside the 7-Eleven, the teens perused several aisles before bringing an item to the register, Antonietti said. Two customers were in front of the teens, and two clerks were behind the register.

When it was their turn to pay, one of the boys handed the clerks $2 cash, prosecutors said. It was not enough money, so the boy pulled out a $5 bill.

As soon as the clerk opened her register to make change, the boy pulled out a black semiautomatic gun and demanded cash, Antonietti said. Both clerks emptied their registers into a plastic bag the boys had brought along with them, according to prosecutors.

The teens then ran back to the car, and Walker drove off — but not before two witnesses caught a glimpse of the boys and the car and called 911, prosecutors said.

Police soon pulled over the car in the 10300 block of South Oakley Avenue, Antonietti said. Officers recovered a loaded Glock .45 caliber gun with nine bullets, as well as nearly $500 cash that'd been stolen from the 7-Eleven.

Witnesses were able to positively identify the robbers, prosecutors said.

Once he was arrested about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, Walker admitted to police that he parked down the street from the 7-Eleven because he knew the boys planned to use a "five-finger discount" inside the store, Antonietti said.

Walker, of the 8100 block of South Evans Avenue, had been free on bond for a pending aggravated DUI case, prosecutors noted.

According to his public defender, Walker has two children and works in the shipping industry.

Cook County Judge Laura Sullivan on Thursday ordered him held in lieu of $400,000 bail.

The teenage accomplices, meanwhile, appeared this week in juvenile court, where a judge ordered them held in custody pending trial, Antonietti said.

All three are charged with armed robbery.
