Tyrone White, 42, Shot To Death In Chatham, Officials Say

CHATHAM — Tyrone White, 42, was shot to death while driving in Chatham on Tuesday night, police said.

At 10:35 p.m., White was driving in the 7700 block of South Calumet Avenue when someone shot at him from the sidewalk, police said.

White was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds in his back, police said.

White, of suburban Burbank, was pronounced dead at 11:20 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

No one was in custody, police said.
