COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 55-year-old man was stabbed in his face and chest during a Mag Mile home invasion this weekend, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The man was able to turn things around by tackling Chiquita White, 20, and holding her until police arrived, according to an arrest report.

White now faces charges of home invasion, residential burglary and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. on Tuesday set bail at $2 million.

The attack happened Sunday in the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue, court records show.

The 55-year-old man and his wife, 53, were asleep when White entered the couple's home through an unlocked door, police said. That's when White allegedly stabbed the man.

White was arrested at 6:37 a.m. Sunday.

According to court records, the victims don't know White, who lives in the 9600 block of South Jeffery Avenue.

A knife was recovered on the scene, the arrest report said.
