CHICAGO — A shooting in Englewood left a 38-year-old man critically wounded on Wednesday evening, police said.
At 5:27 p.m., the man was standing outside a business in the 6600 block of South Damen Avenue when he heard gunshots, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man ran into the business and realized he'd been shot in his left shoulder, Pacheco said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.
The man was a documented gang member, police said.
No one was in custody.
