Englewood Shootings Wound 3 Since Sunday Morning, Police Say

CHICAGO — Three people were wounded in three separate shootings in Englewood since Sunday morning, according to police.

Most recently, a 23-year-old woman was shot in the neighborhood, police said.

She was in the doorway of a building at 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 5900 block of South Carpenter Avenue when someone began firing shots, police said.

The woman was hit in her left hand and was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital, where her condition was not released but police considered her to be stable.

At 4:21 p.m. Sunday, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the 1900 block of West Marquette Road in West Englewood, police said.

The teen was walking when a man came up and confronted him before opening fire, police said. He was struck in his left shoulder and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

At 11:05 a.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said.
