WEST TOWN — A 34-year-old man was shot while driving in West Town early Sunday morning, police said.

At 2:39 a.m., the man was driving in the 2600 block of West Chicago Avenue when someone shot at him from a black SUV, according to a police incident report.

The man was shot in his left elbow and drove to West Suburban Hospital, where he was considered "stable," police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, police said.
