MILLENNIUM PARK — A 54-year-old man was shot in his head in front of the Art Institute of Chicago Saturday evening, police said.

At 7:35 p.m., the man was walking with two women in the 0-100 block of South Michigan Avenue when he began arguing with another man, according to Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The argument "turned physical," and the other man pulled out a gun and fired one shot before riding away on a bicycle, Alfaro said.

The man was brought to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

A "person of interest" is in custody and being questioned, police said.
