CALUMET HEIGHTS — Antonio Porterfield, 28, died after being shot in his neck on the Far South Side Sunday morning, police said.

Porterfield was shot at 4:29 a.m. in the 9200 block of South Colfax Avenue, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

An acquaintance drove Porterfield to Trinity Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Lemmon said. He was pronounced dead at 5:04 a.m.

An autopsy showed Porterfield, of the 12000 block of South Indiana, died of a gunshot wound in his neck in a homicide, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.

A "person of interest" was being questioned, Lemmon said.
