Gage Park Shooting Kills Jose Vizcarra, 20, And Wounds Woman, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Gage Park left a 20-year-old man dead and a woman wounded early Saturday, police said.

At 2:09 a.m., the man and the 24-year-old woman were standing outside in the 2200 block of South 50th Street when a car drove up, police said. A man got out of the car and fired shots.

The man was hit in his head and was dead at the scene, police said. The woman was hit in her foot and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Jose Vizcarra, of the 400 block of North Hamlin Avenue.

No one was in custody.
