South Shore Taxi Robberies Prompt Police Warning

SOUTH SHORE — Authorities are looking for the man who robbed two cab drivers in South Shore on Wednesday, police said.

In each incident, the robber hailed a taxi Downtown and directed it to the 7800 block of South Shore Drive, police said. Once there, the robber demanded money from the driver, police said.

The robberies happened at 9:37 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Police described the robber as a 20- to 40-year-old black man, between 5 feet, 7 inches and 6 feet tall and 140 to 160 pounds with a medium to dark brown complexion and black hair worn in a short afro.
