Englewood, Chatham Shootings Wound 2 Men

CHICAGO — Shootings in Chatham and Englewood have wounded two men since Thursday, police said.

• At 2:14 a.m. Friday, a 32-year-old man was sitting on a porch in the 8200 block of South Maryland Avenue when two men walked up to him and one took out a gun and fired shots, police said.

The victim was hit in his legs and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. His condition was not available, but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man was affiliated with a gang, police said.

• At 10:15 a.m. Thursday, a 23-year-old man was in the 1200 block of West 70th Street when someone in a black car fired shots and drove off, police said.

The man was hit in his foot and took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, police said. He was expected to be treated and released.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody in the shootings.
