WEST TOWN —  Food trucks and art in all forms — visual, musical, culinary and fashion — will be in plentiful supply next weekend at the simultaneously occurring West Town Food Truck Social and Art Walk.

“We are excited to offer a unique spin on the street fest concept that pairs together two of our best assets – food and art!,” says West Town Chamber of Commerce director Kara Salgado, who planned the events for the same weekend.

The Food Truck social, starring more than 17 trucks offering everything from cupcakes to lobster, is scheduled for 4 to 10 p.m. next Friday and 10 a.m to 10 p.m. next Saturday.

The food trucks will be parked on Noble Street between Chestnut Street and Chicago Avenue.

The Art Walk is set for 5 to 8 p.m. next Friday and noon to 6 p.m. next Saturday. It will take place along Chicago Ave from Milwaukee to Hoyne, and on Ashland Avenue between Chicago Avenue and Division Street.

The Food Truck Social brand (the last one took place in June in Pilsen) is, as its name suggests, a street party with Illinois Food Truck Owner Association-affiliated trucks.

The West Town Food Truck Social is sponsored by Coors Light and Blue Moon, and the event will feature seasonal Blue Moon beer varieties such as the Harvest Pumpkin and Gingerbread Spiced Ales.

While some retail stores along the Art Walk route will be sampling a wide variety of seasonal beers, full pours of beer will only be for sale at the Food Truck Social, organizers said.

The massive Art Walk, now in its sixth year, includes 35 shops, businesses, restaurants and galleries.

Activities include "Art in the Park" from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in Eckhart Park, live art making by Joshua Gilley; a "Cool Car Show" and a "Can I Kick It" street art show at Truborn Gallery, among other highlights.

If art walk attendees visit at least 15 spots on the map, they will also be qualified to enter a West Town Art Walk raffle with prizes.
