UPTOWN — Ever since he's taken office, Ald. James Cappleman (46th) has heard constant complaints from his constituents about motorcycle noise as the vehicles "race up and down" Lake Shore Drive.

Thursday, he'll attempt to alleviate the problem by hosting a community meeting with the Town Hall District at their station, 850 W. Addison St.

"Every alderman along Lake Michigan hears the same types of complaints, and it's no wonder — the noise is disturbing, especially when it's late at night," he said in his newsletter Thursday.

The meeting will allow "interested residents to discuss this longstanding issue, along with ideas and challenges involved with addressing this," the newsletter said." Your feedback is needed to assist us with improving the quality of life for all Chicagoans."

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 29.
