WICKER PARK — If you are looking for free coffee, there will be plenty of it at Cafe Bustelo's five-day pop-up taking over Bru in Wicker Park beginning this Thursday.
The event runs from Thursday through Monday, and to accommodate the takeover, Bru at 1562 N. Milwaukee Ave. closed on Tuesday and plans to reopen at 8 a.m. on Sept. 29, according to a post on Bru's Facebook page.
In Bru's place, Miami, Fla.-based Cafe Bustelo will offer a pop-up cafe with free coffee, live music and a photo booth, all serving to offer an "energizing respite" and "alternative to the daily grind," organizers said in a news release.
Cafe Bustelo's pop-up hours are 8 a.m to 7 p.m. daily from Thursday through Monday.
The Chicago pop-up is part of a four-city initiative with Los Angeles, Austin and New York. This fall will be Cafe Bustelo's third stop in Chicago, following a 2014 takeover of Filter and last year's stay at The Coffee Alley in Little Italy.
In addition to free coffee, there will be "select pastries," free wifi, phone charging stations and lounge seating.
