12-Year-Old Charged In String Of River North Armed Robberies

CHICAGO — A 12-year-old boy has been charged with committing three armed robberies in six days in River North, police said.

The boy was charged with one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm in the string of robberies beginning Sept. 14 between the 700 and 900 blocks of North Larrabee Street.

Dave Matthews shares details of the arrest.

In the crimes, police said the boy approached his victims and showed a gun before taking their belongings.

The crimes all occurred between 8 and 9:30 p.m. on Sept 14-15 and Monday, police said.

No injuries are reported, but police said they are still looking for two other suspects.
