DOWNTOWN — Don't turn those air conditioners off: It'll be a hot week in the city.

The normal high temperature for this time of year is 73 degrees, said AccuWeather meteorologist Tom Kines, but Wednesday and Thursday will hit the mid- to upper 80s. (The record for those days is 92 degrees, so there's a chance we'll break that, Kines said, but it's unlikely.)

Things won't get much cooler the rest of the week: Friday will stay in the low to mid-80s, Kines said, and it'll be humid every day. Chicagoans should expect sunny, dry days, with a chance of rain on Friday.

There will be a "summer-y feel" to the week, Kines said, but things won't be quite as toasty as they are during the actual summer because the days are shorter and temperatures don't stay high as long.

"Nevertheless, I'm sure there's going to be some people that feel uncomfortable over the next few days," Kines said.

Temperatures should drop closer to normal over the weekend, Kines said, but they'll still be in the mid-70s.
