PORTAGE PARK — A 19-year-old man was shot on the city's Far Northwest Side Thursday afternoon, police said.

Sometime between 4-4:30 p.m., the man was walking in the 5300 block of West Cuyler Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his left arm, according to Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Community First Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Quaid said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, police said.
