EDGEWATER — A Loyola student was the victim of a robbery in Edgewater Monday night, according to police.

Around 10:15 p.m., the 20-year-old student was walking in the 1300 block of West Hood Avenue when two men and a woman approached, implied they had a weapon and demanded his backpack — though the student did not actually see a weapon, police said.

The student handed the bag over and the robbers fled headed east, university police said.

One of the men in the group was described by police as being between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-2, 160-80 pounds, black with short black hair and around 20 years old. The other man was similarly described, but between 20-25 and with an unknown height or weight, according to police.

Police also said the woman in the group was described as being between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-9, black and about 130-160 pounds.

No arrests have been made and Area North Detectives are investigating, police said.
