BEVERLY — A Beverly woman returned home Tuesday afternoon to find an armed man inside her house, Chicago Police said.

The 51-year-old woman arrived around 3:35 p.m. to her home in the 10200 block South Leavitt Street, according to police. 

She was met inside by a man who had a handgun and demanded her property. He then fled. The homeowner was not hurt in the exchange, police said.

Police had no further information about the crime, and detectives are investigating.
