PORTAGE PARK — Beloved 1980s cult classic “The Goonies” will be shown on a big screen under the stars at a drive-in movie at Six Corners at 8 p.m. Sept. 30.

Promising old-time entertainment with a modern spin, organizers with the the Six Corners Association will transform the parking lot at 3930 N. Milwaukee Ave. into a drive-in — or walk in — movie theater.

Tickets for the event, which are available online, are $30 per car, $15 per adult pedestrian or $5 per child pedestrian. Sound will be broadcast through radios, organizers said.

"The Goonies," released in 1985, tells the story of a group of friends who try to save their homes from demolition and discover the long-lost fortune of a 17th-century pirate while battling a family of criminals.
