JEFFERSON PARK — A west suburban man charged with taking two men hostage at the 7-Eleven in Jefferson Park is being held without bail, officials said.

Antonio Camacho, 39, of Carpentersville, faces three felony counts in connection with the incident at the 7-Eleven store at 4859 N. Milwaukee Ave. that began around 9:15 p.m. Saturday.

Camacho is charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful restraint as well as armed robbery, officials said. He was held without bail Monday afternoon, officials said.

Two employees were taken hostage for four hours after a man entered the store near the Jefferson Park Transit Center and began making threats, police said.

The employees were freed about 1:15 a.m. Sunday after a Chicago Police SWAT team entered the store. They were unharmed.

Camacho is due back in court next week, officials said.
