CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man was fatally shot in a Humboldt Park attack Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The man was in the 1600 block of North Karlov Avenue when at around 3:08 p.m., shots rang out, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was struck in his chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Tannehill said.

The man was identified as Sergio Zaragoza, who lived in the 1700 block of North Karlov Avenue, a block north of where he was shot and killed, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was a documented gang member, according to police. No arrests have been made.
