BRAINERD — A shooting in Brainerd Saturday near the Metra Rock Island Line tracks left a man dead, police said.
Nahmar Holmes, 23, was standing in front of a home in the 8900 block of South Justine Street when two people approached and fired shots, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
Holmes, who was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, was shot multiple times in the torso and was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:39 p.m.
No one is in custody, police said.
