UPTOWN AND ANDERSONVILLE — From the Grand Prix of the Sea to Uptown Saturday Nights, there's plenty to do in the neighborhoods this weekend.

Second Friday On Argyle: Pho Viet will serve an array of authentic and fusion dishes for this month's Second Friday on Argyle. Their featured dish will be Bò Lúc Lắc, or Shaking Beef, which uses cuts of rib eye steak marinated in butter, and Bánh Xèo, a savory Vietnamese crepe. The monthly event not only showcases food at a local businesses, but also brings the community together to talk about improving the community. 6-9 p.m. Friday. Pho Viet, 4941 N. Broadway.

Jazz Brunch With Bottomless Mimosas: Appellation will kick-off its Jazz brunch series Sunday with a two-hour set from Elaine Dame and her jazz duo. She'll perform from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will return to the wine bar and restaurant on Oct. 9 and Nov. 6. Appellation has also added bottomless mimosas ($15) for its Saturday and Sunday brunch menu. Pastoral, 5212 N. Clark St. 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Alternatives Birthday Party: Alternatives, Inc. is celebrating its 45th year of build community wth a block party featuring youth performances, games, food trucks, tours of the space and a special performance by Chicago-based rapper Ric Wilson. The youth and family agency, which was founded in 1971 to make communities more safe, will also unveil its new logo. Alternatives, Inc. 4730 N. Sheridan Rd. 1-4 p.m. Saturday.

Uptown Saturday Nights: The free monthly event returns Saturday as part of the 18th annual World Music Festival featuring Esso Afrojam Funkbeat, which performs funky afro-Latino and roots rock inspired dance music. The World Music Festival is a city-wide, multi-venue festival held over 11 days. You can RSVP for the event here. 21 and over. Free. Uptown Lounge, 1136 W. Lawrence Ave. 8 p.m. Saturday.

Grand Prix Of The Sea: AquaX, which bills itself as the world's fastest-growing jet ski competition, will make a stop at Foster Beach for its 2016 tour this weekend.
