PARK MANOR — A Chicago man is facing assault charges after pointing a handgun with a laser sight at a driver and her passenger in Park Manor early Monday, the Cook County Sheriff's office said.

Around 1 a.m. Monday, Derrick Harrington, 21, was driving in the 7100 block of South Indiana Avenue when he pointed the gun into the other car, the sheriff's office said.

Sheriff's Police pulled over Harrington and found a .40 caliber Glock handgun with a laser sight under the driver's seat in his car while Harrington was "refusing orders to show his hands and exit the vehicle," the sheriff's office said.

Harrington, who had a Firearm Owner's ID card and a concealed carry license, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and authorities are now trying to have his gun permits revoked, the sheriff's office said.
