By Heather Cherone | September 6, 2016 5:07pm

DUNNING — A 53-year-old Dunning man was identified Tuesday as the victim of a crash that occurred Aug. 28 while he tried to cross Belmont Avenue.

Krzysztof Wlostowski, 53, died of injuries he suffered in the crash, Cook County Medical Examiner spokeswoman Becky Schlikerman said.

Efforts by DNAinfo Chicago to reach Wlostowski's family Tuesday were unsuccessful.

Wlostowski died after he was struck at 12:40 a.m. Aug. 28 by a car in the 7900 block of west Belmont Avenue, police said. He lived about two miles from where he was hit, officials said.

Driver Jaime Delgado was ticketed for negligent driving in connection with the crash. In addition, Delgado was ticketed for driving without a license, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.

The man was struck when he "unexpectedly entered the roadway, and the driver did not have time to respond," according to the results of the preliminary investigation, police said.
