ENGLEWOOD — LaShawn Carr, 33, was shot to death in Englewood on Monday evening, police said.
At 6:48 p.m., the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 900 block of West 58th Street when someone shot at him from a passing light-colored sedan, according to Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound in his back, Tannehill said. He was later pronounced dead.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified Carr as the man fatally shot. Carr lived in the 5900 block of South Emerald Avenue in Englewood, according to the medical examiner.
No one is in custody, police said.
