NORTH LAWNDALE — A police standoff Saturday night ended with the arrest of three people after an off-duty Illinois State Trooper was carjacked in suburban Cicero, police said.

Around 9 p.m., three men stole the trooper's car near the intersection of 18th Street and 51st Court in Cicero, according to a Cicero Police spokesman. The trooper's personal gun was in the car.

Cicero police chased down two of the suspected carjackers and arrested them, police said.

Police followed the third suspect, an 18-year-old man, back to his home in the 4200 block of West 16th Street in North Lawndale, police said. Cicero Police and Chicago Police surrounded his home, and he later surrendered.

Both the trooper's car and gun were recovered, police said.
