ENGLEWOOD — Some students will see a change at their schools this academic year.

1. The Montessori School of Englewood, 6936 S. Hermitage

Students will no longer have to share their building with another school. The school has moved into the former Barbara A. Sizemore Academy building. Last month, artists from across the city came together to beautify the school with murals.

2. Barbara A. Sizemore Academy, 6547 S. Stewart

The school has moved from 6936 S. Hermitage to 6547 S. Hermitage. There are three campuses in total, including DuSable Leadership Academy and Betty Shabazz Academy.

3. Lavizzo Elementary, 38 W. 109th St.

For the first time this year, the school will hold a farmers market every Wednesday from 2:30-5:30 p.m. until Nov. 9.

5. Leo High School, 7901 S. Sangamon St.

The all-male Catholic high school has a new principal. Rawls Shaka graduated from the school in 1993. He created the organization I.M.P.A.C.T. (Inspiring and Motivating Positive Actions for City Teens), which focuses on community engagement and mentoring Chicago students. He brings more than 14 years of classroom experience, holding various teaching positions at both the high school and college level.
