NORWOOD PARK — With one in seven Americans struggling to get enough to eat every day, the Northwest Side Hunger Walk will hit the pavement Sept. 25 to raise money and awareness, officials said.
The 31st annual walk will raise money for the New Hope Methodist Food Pantry, Catholic Charities and Heifer International, which which works to eradicate poverty by providing families in developing countries with livestock.
The event will begin at 1 p.m. at Resurrection College Prep High School, 7500 W. Talcott Road.
The food pantry serves families in O'Hare, Edison Park, Norwood Park, Jefferson Park, Gladstone Park, Edgebrook and Sauganash. Families can get an emergency three-to-five day food supply once a month.
