WEST TOWN — A "Keepin It Real" seminar with arrested gang members and officers from the Near West Police District will give the public a chance to learn about crime from those involved with it on the front lines.

Set for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Nazareth Family Center, 1127 N. Oakley Blvd., the free seminar on Gang Recruitment and Drug Activity, will be an opportunity to talk with five to seven people that were arrested for drugs and gang involvement, according to a flier.

Members of the public will be encouraged to ask questions at the Keepin It Real event, which is a collaboration between Safer Foundation and the Near West Police District.

Safer Foundation is a Chicago nonprofit organization that focuses on providing social services to those with criminal records and helping them stay out of jail.
