Omar Kent, 38, Shot To Death In Garfield Park, Police Say

GARFIELD PARK — A 38-year-old man was shot to death inside Garfield Park early Sunday morning, police said.

At 12:35 a.m., the man had just parked his car in the 3600 block of West Fifth Avenue when five men walked up, one of whom pulled out a gun and fired shots, according to a police incident report.

The man was shot in his head and pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Omar Kent, of the 2300 block of South Kirkland Avenue.

Police said he was a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, police said.
