Man Used Silver Gun To Rob 3 NW Side Businesses In 1 Hour: Police

JEFFERSON PARK — Police are looking for a man who used a silver or chrome handgun to rob three Northwest Side businesses within an hour on Thursday, according to an alert issued Friday afternoon.

The man displayed the gun and demanded money from the stores' registers, police said.

The first robbery took place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of west Montrose Avenue in Ravenswood Manor, police said.

The second took place three miles away at 8:10 p.m. Thursday in the 5000 block of north Cicero Avenue in Jefferson Park, police said.

The last robbery took place at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 5300 block of north of Milwaukee Avenue, two blocks from the Jefferson Park (16th) Police District Headquarters, police said.

Police are looking for a black man between the ages of 16-25, between 5-feet-7-inches and 5-feet-10-inches tall weighing between 130-160 pounds. He wore a white T-shirt, blue jeans, baseball cap and gym shoes, officials said.

Anyone with information about the crimes should call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263, police said.
