 These are the 25 homes with the most expensive sales prices in Chicago in 2016 through August.

CHICAGO — Of the 25 most expensive homes sold in the city so far in 2016, only one isn't located in Lincoln Park or Downtown.

Real estate listing site theopenhouse.com compiled the list of 25 most expensive homes sold in 2016, compiling the data from Cook County records.

Here's a map and list:

1. $11,700,000. 11 East Walton Street Unit 5200, 60611

The full-floor penthouse at the Waldorf Astoria was the most expensive home sold this year in Chicago. It includes a private indoor pool and a theater. It sold for a million below asking price.

2. $8,350,000. 2026 North Mohawk Street, 60614

The seven-bedroom mansion has a theater, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, an exercise room and a library, among other amenities.

3. $8,300,000. 1944 North Howe Street, 60614

A 10,500-square-foot home with an elevator and two outdoor fireplaces.

4. $4,950,000. 1804 North Mohawk Street, 60614

The five-bedroom, 6,400-square foot house has what was described as "breathtaking views of the skyline" from the top-floor exercise area.

5. $4,900,000. 399 West Fullerton Parkway Unit 9, 60614

This home with four bedrooms, four bathrooms and three half bathrooms is on the 9th floor of a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

6. $4,775,000. 843 West Webster Avenue, 60614

Built in 1881, the 6,785-square-foot home sits on two lots. The top level has four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

7. $4,650,000. 132 East Delaware Place Unit 6308A, 60611

The 63rd floor two-bedroom condo atop the Four Seasons Hotel includes round-the-clock rooms service.

8. $4,500,000. 800 North Michigan Avenue Unit 5101, 60611

A 6,300-square-foot unit at 800 North Michigan Avenue, Unit 5101 in the Park Hyatt building has two balconies on the 51st floor offering "breathtaking, unobstructed lake views."

9. $4,100,000. 1922 North Dayton Street, 60614

The new-construction single-family home at 1922 N. Dayton St. in Lincoln Park has six bedrooms and a rooftop deck.

10. $3,987,391. 4 East Elm Street Unit 16S, 60611

This is the first of three units from this building making the list. It was described by the listing agent as "the ultimate urban oasis of luxury and privacy."

11. $3,936,052. 4 East Elm Street Unit 19S, 60611

This is the second of three units from this building making the list. More "ultimate oasis of luxury and privacy."

12. $3,825,000. 1929 North Cleveland Avenue, 60614

The 6,400-square-foot home has five bedrooms, an elevator, an outdoor kitchen and a rec room with a wet bar.

13. $3,800,000. 1763 North Wilmot Avenue, 60647

A five-bedroom home that neighbors The 606, it is on a cul-de-sac and has a private gated alley. "Stunning gourmet chef's kitchen" too.

14. $3,750,000. 1874 North Burling Street, 60614

The five-bedroom, 7,500-square-foot home was built in 2001. It has a "lush backyard" and two rooftop decks.

15. $3,722,000. 50 East Chestnut Street Unit 3701, 60611

This unit takes up the entire 37th floor. It has walnut floors and plaster walls.

16. $3,650,000. 453 West Deming Place, 60614

This recently constructed rowhouse with limestone facade has four bathrooms.

17. $3,650,000. 2015 North Clifton Avenue, 60614

The four-story home was built last year.

18. $3,600,000. 4 East Elm Street Unit 21N, 60611

This is the third of three units from this building making the list. Did we mention how it is "the ultimate urban oasis of..." Oh, we did?

This six-bedroom was completed this year and has poplar trim and a veranda with an outdoor fireplace and TV.
