LAKEVIEW — Break out the bacon and eggs (all of them), because Nick Offerman is coming to town.

The actor and woodworker announced his 13-stop book tour Wednesday, and The Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., will be among his first stops.

Offerman will spend an evening with fans at the Music Box at 7 p.m. Oct. 22. Tickets are not yet on sale. He will also visit Minooka High School in his hometown of Minooka Oct. 23.

Offerman's third book, "Good Clean Fun: Misadventures in Sawdust at Offerman Woodshop" will be released Oct. 18. Entertainment Weekly shared an excerpt along with the book tour schedule Wednesday morning.

The book shares Offerman's woodworking secrets and "besots them with the infectious spirit of the shop and its complement of dusty wood-elves," according to its description.

Best known for his mustachioed portrayal of Ron Swanson in "Parks and Recreation," Offerman grew up in Illinois and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Along with co-founding the Chicago-based theater company Defiant Theatre, Offerman performed at the Steppenwolf and Goodman theaters.

Back in 2014, he sported Cubs gear while debating the merits of Chicago's baseball teams with Craig Robinson:

The Music Box event is sponsored by The Book Stall, an independent Winnetka shop.
