By Joe Ward | August 24, 2016 1:33pm

CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man was killed and a 33-year-old man was wounded in separate Englewood shootings late Wednesday morning, according to police.

The shootings occurred minutes and about a half-mile from each other in Englewood, police said.

A 28-year-old man was fatally shot at 10:54 a.m., said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was sitting in a car with friends in the 5700 block of South Emerald Avenue when shots were fired at the car, Trainor said. He got out of the car and began running but was shot multiple times in his torso as he ran, she said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Trainor said. The man is a documented gang member, police said.

At 10:57 a.m., a 33-year-old man was shot in the 5900 block of South Wentworth Avenue, Trainor said.

He was struck in his back and arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

No arrests have been made in either shooting, Trainor said.
