WICKER PARK — TV chef Jeff Mauro's 9-month-old restaurant Pork & Mindy's has introduced a pastrami sandwich, and the casual Wicker Park/Bucktown spot now offers a Bring Your Own Bottle option, according to a news release.

A spokeswoman for Pork & Mindy's also said that the planned expansion to 4359 W. Irving Park Road, set to have happened this past spring, has been delayed with no set date for an opening given.

Earlier this year, flush off of Wicker Park's debut in January, Mauro shared his aggressive expansion plans. Mauro's first restaurant came after 10-plus years cobbling together gigs as a cook, comedian and musician before hitting it big in 2011 as the winner of the seventh season of "Food Network Star.

A spokeswoman said that pastrami is one of Jeff Mauro’s favorite dishes and his proclaimed favorite color. so it was "only appropriate that [pastrami] would be added to the list."

Costing $8, "Pastramindy" is made with house-cured and smoked thick-cut pastrami, mustard sauce and spicy pickles, served on a marble rye bun.

Located at 1623 N. Milwaukee Ave., the restaurant, owned by Mauro, along with co-founder Kevin Corsello, draws its name from a name Corsello used in BBQ competitions.

The BBQ-focused Pork & Mindy's menu includes several pork dishes like the Pig Candy BLT, Bao to the Pork, sliders and pork tots, along with chicken and salads.
