COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — An Arizona man has been charged with murdering 58-year-old Bernadette Glomski in 2015.

The woman was found strangled inside her Logan Square home in the 2500 block of West Moffat Street on April 15, 2015, prosecutors said. Two electrical cords were wound tightly around Glomski's neck, and there were contusions on her cheek.

Prosecutors on Tuesday charged 30-year-old John Sky Blue Antone with first-degree murder after fingerprints and DNA evidence linked him to the attack.

Glomski and Antone were friends, prosecutors said, and Antone was staying with Glomski in the days prior to her murder.

On April 13, 2015, Glomski, Antone and a witness spent time together in Glomski's basement apartment until roughly 9 p.m., Assistant State's Attorney Becky Walters said during a bond hearing Tuesday. Glomski was alive when the witness left.

The following day, a separate witness went to visit Glomski and found her laying motionless on the couch, prosecutors said. Glomski's door was ajar, and her lights were off. The witness assumed Glomski was asleep and left so as not to disturb her, Walters said.

But on April 15, 2015, when Glomski was in the same exact position, friends realized something was wrong. A witness trying to visit Glomski called 911, and Glomski was pronounced dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office listed her cause of death as asphyxia ligature strangulation.

That same day, Antone was captured on surveillance video using Glomski's Link card at a gas station. He was never seen at her apartment again, prosecutors said.

Police were later able to match a fingerprint on a bleach bottle near Glomski's body to Antone, according to Walters. Authorities found multiple DNA signatures on the electrical cords used to strangle Glomski; Antone's DNA could not be ruled out.

Police also collected a rape kit following the murder. DNA from the kit proved to be a positive match to Antone, Walters said Tuesday.

Antone was arrested Sunday and charged with first-degree murder.

Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. on Tuesday denied Antone bail.
