LOGAN SQUARE — John Alexander, 66, died after being stabbed in his Logan Square home Saturday night, police said.

At 10:30 p.m., Alexander was in his home in the 2500 block of West Moffat Street when a man walked inside and stabbed him multiple times in his chest before running away, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Alexander was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He was pronounced dead at 11:24 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records, and an autopsy showed he died of multiple stab wounds in a homicide.

Police said the 66-year-old was a "convicted felon."

No one is in custody, police said.
