Chicago Lawn Shooting Kills Darius Brownlee, 25, Police Say

CHICAGO LAWN — A man died after being shot in his head on the Southwest Side early Sunday morning, police said.

At 2:49 a.m., the man was shot in the 7000 block of South Artesian Avenue, according to a police incident report.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, police said. He was later pronounced dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office later identified the man as Darius Brownlee, 25, of the 7900 block of South Paulina Avenue.

No one is in custody, police said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.
