South Side Shootings Wound 3 People In 1 Hour, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Englewood and Chatham left three people wounded in one hour early Saturday, police said.

• Most recently, at 1:44 a.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said. The man was in the 7300 block of South May Street when he was shot four times.

The man was hit twice in his chest, once in his shoulder and once in his left armpit, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

The man was uncooperative and wouldn't say what happened, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 1:40 a.m., a 40-year-old man was shot in Chatham, police said. The man was walking through an alley in the 800 block of East 82nd Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his abdomen. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

• At 12:56 a.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in West Englewood, police said. The man was standing outside in the 5500 block of South Hermitage Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his foot. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody.
