LOGAN SQUARE — Summer is still in session and although this weekend's Chicago Air and Water Show is the biggest event in town, there are plenty of other options in the neighborhoods.

Here are our six favorite events going on this weekend in Logan Square and Humboldt Park.

A Joyful Passage

Come out and join your neighbors in a special serenade of one of Humboldt Park's smaller parks, Simons Park. The Saturday night event, which is being put on by Opera-Matic, will include a serenade with hurricane sculptures, gigantic punching bags, boxing animations and a shadow boxing ring to celebrate the life of professional boxer Johnny "Hurricane" Heard, who was a boxing coach at the park's field house. The event starts at 7 p.m. at 1640 N. Drake Ave. and runs until 9 p.m.

Chicago Pokemon Go in Humboldt Park

Pokemon trainers from all over the city are invited to a free meetup in Humboldt Park that is being hosted by ChicagoPokemonGo.com. The event will feature a competition involving individual stat tracking and prizes as well as a gym scrimmage where top teams will be crowned. The event is free. Trainers check in at the Boat House Cafe at or before noon Saturday, 1400 N. Sacramento Blvd. The event is free.

Tattoo-B-Que

Revolution Tattoo in Logan Square is hosting its 5th annual Tattoo-B-Que bash focusing on food-themed tattoos and plenty of actual barbecue. Barbecue will be provided by ManBque and side dishes will be from Kumas Corner, Wyler Road, Northdown, Three Aces and more. A number of special guest tattoo artists will be at the event and a limited number of $100 food-themed tattoo specials will be available. The party starts at noon Saturday.

Inside Out Outside

Catch one of the last nights of Movies in the Park in Logan Square Sunday with a screening of the Pixar hit "Inside Out." The movie is being shown at Unity Playlot Park, 2636 N. Kimball Ave. starting about sundown, roughly 8 p.m. Bring your own popcorn.

Blue Grass Brunch

Head over the The General for its weekly Blue Grass Brunch featuring a live band to accompany biscuits and gravy and bloody marys. Music will be provided by RailTracer and run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 2529 N. California Ave.

Make a Beat

Cafe Mustache in Logan Square is hosting its monthly open beats night Friday night. The event resembles an open mic night, but is focused on strictly beats. A number of producers will perform, but there will be slots open to the public to perform. Kicks off at 9 p.m., 2313 N. Milwaukee Ave.
