CHICAGO — The producers behind an upcoming movie based in Chicago are looking for actors on the South Side.

An open casting call for "Drill" will start at 3 p.m. Friday at 2603 W. 79th St., according to a news release. Producers are looking for South Side locals to star in and work as extras in the movie. Attendees must be 12 or older and should bring an acting resume if they have one, but acting experience is not necessary.

"Drill" will follow the rise of drill music, a Chicago-born style of rap with lyrics that are often focused on violence.

The movie will focus on the musicians who popularized drill, looking at how they "revolutionized music, social media and pop culture forever," while also portraying the South Side neighborhoods they grew up in, according to a news release.

Filming for "Drill" will start in October and is expected to run until April. It will film in Chicago.
