Another Bicyclist Killed In Chicago, This Time In Garfield Park Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO — A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Garfield Park on Wednesday night, police said.

At 10:19 p.m., Francisco Cruz, 58, was riding a bike when he was hit by a car in the 4000 block of West Maypole Avenue, according to a Chicago Police community alert. The driver drove away west on Maypole Avenue.

Cruz, of the 1300 block of South Christiana, was pronounced dead at 11 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.

The car, a white cargo van with a company logo on the outside, might have front-end damage, police said.
