ARMOUR SQUARE — A 17-year-old girl was shot in her leg about a block from U.S. Cellular Field Thursday afternoon, police said.

At 4:36 p.m., the teen was shot in the 3800 block of South Wentworth Avenue, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in fair condition, Sweeney said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.
