ROGERS PARK — The overwhelming majority of "sex buyers" arrested in Chicago during a nationwide sweep this summer — including a 15-year-old — were caught in Rogers Park, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office spearheaded the nationwide effort called the "national johns suppression initiative" which resulted in more than 1,300 sex buyers arrested across the country since July 1, the sheriff's office said.
Of those, local police agencies arrested 230 sex buyers in Cook County, which was the most arrested in one area, according to the sheriff's office.

Forty of those "Johns" were arrested in Chicago, with 29 of them (73 percent) caught in the 7000 and 7100 blocks of North Clark Street in Rogers Park.
Among those 29 arrestees is a 15-year-old boy who had attempted to buy sex, police said.
On July 29, 12 men were arrested in the 7000 block of North Clark Street, followed by another 10 arrests on the same block Aug. 3.
On Aug. 4, seven more men were arrested in the 7100 block of North Clark Street.
The remaining 11 arrests occurred in the Austin neighborhood.
Seattle came in second for most johns arrested with 204, the sheriff said. Columbus came in third with 167 johns arrested.
