Kenneth Carrington, 40, Killed, Girl Grazed In Grand Crossing Shooting

GRAND CROSSING — A 40-year-old man was killed in a shooting that also left a 13-year-old girl with a graze wound in Grand Crossing Tuesday night, police said.

The shooting occurred about 10 p.m. in the 7300 block of South University Avenue, according to a police incident report.

The man was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after being shot in his neck, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Kenneth Carrington, of the same block.

The girl was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where she was listed in good condition with a graze wound in her left leg, police said.

Police said the shooting appeared to be gang-related.

Police could immediately provide any other information on the shooting.

No one is in custody.
