WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — An armed robber struck the same fast food restaurant twice this month, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The robber displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register on Aug. 5 and 8 at a fast food restaurant in the 10300 block of South Halsted Street in Washington Heights, police said in a news alert. The alert did not include the name of the restaurant.

The alert issued by police in the Morgan Park District described the robber as a black man between 18-25 years old. He is about 5-feet-7, and weighs approximately 150 pounds.

The robber has short black hair and a medium complexion. He wore tan pants and in one robbery wore a ski mask. It is believed that this same robber wore a scarf over his face in the second robbery, police said.

Police recommend that all businesses train their employees how to safely handle a robbery situation. It is also recommended that businesses close immediately after a robbery to preserve any evidence.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call the Area South Property Crimes Unit at 312-747-8273.
