CHICAGO — This week will start off rainy before getting hot and humid in Chicago.

Tuesday and Wednesday will see rain and thunderstorms hit the city, but temperatures will at least be a little cooler than they have been recently, AccuWeather meteorologist Ed Vallee said. But the city will feel like it's 90 degrees and humid by Thursday and Friday, he said.

"Monday is certainly going to be nice," Vallee said. "Tuesday and Wednesday are the lesser days to be outside."

Here's a quick look at what to expect each day:

Monday

The week will start with clouds and sunshine, Vallee said: Monday will be cooler than what the city has seen recently and humidity should be more manageable.

"Looks pretty nice," Vallee said.

The city is expected to see a high temperature of 82 degrees, Vallee said.

Tuesday

Bad rains will hit the southern part of Illinois, but Chicago should be spared except for a few storms that will hit different areas of the city throughout the day, Vallee said. Some parts of the city will get ½ inch to 1 inch of rain while others will be dry.

Temperatures will stay in the low 80s and humidity should be "seasonable," Vallee said.

Wednesday

There will be another chance for rain and thunderstorms in Chicago on Wednesday, Vallee said. Again, temperatures should stick around the low 80s and the humidity shouldn't be too bad, Vallee said.

Thursday

Things will start to get a bit stuffy again in the city on Thursday: Humidity will be up and temperatures will be in the mid-80s, though it will feel more like the 90s, Vallee said.

Don't expect any rain to help cool things off: The day should be dry, Vallee said.

Friday

Friday will be the hottest day of the week with temperatures hitting 87 degrees, Vallee said. That's warmer than the usual 82 degrees Chicago sees this time of year, Vallee said, and it'll actually feel like temperatures are in the 90s.

Expect another day of high humidity and sunny skies with some clouds, Vallee said.
